It's That Time of Year Again!

Well...school is about to start! I can't believe it! The summer seemed to fly by. You'd think that I got married, went on a honeymoon, moved, and started a new job or something...oh yeah, I did! hehe I am VERY excited about the year ahead, and I am looking forward to getting started with my new class of 1st graders.

Needless to say, I have spent countless hours over the past few weeks preparing my classroom. I decided to do some before and after shots of the room to show everybody the transformation that has been made. I do have to say that I couldn't have done it without the help of my mom and dad...it REALLY pays to have parents that are teachers. :c)

Let me tell you a little bit about my school. This is the fourth year that Isbell Elementary has been open. My principal is the principal that opened the school, and she is AMAZING! She is very high energy and passionate about what she does. This year our school theme is western, and our school is beginning to look like a genuine western town! It's very exciting!

Here are some before pictures of my classroom before I started to work...pretty dull and boring:

Here are some of the pictures of what it looks like now:

These are the western boards that greet you as you pass by my room.

Happy Birthday board! (Each student will have a hat with
his/her name on it to wear on his/her birthday)

Saving the best for last...the BEAUTIFUL rainbow built by my mom

Hey Jessica--- Ann passed on the link to your blog. Fun!
Just wanted to let you know that I love to sew and am always happy to sew on request-- especially for first graders who appreciate creativity more than perfection.
Let me know if there is anything you want/need for your classroom!
